The Melting Pot is a Fondue Restaurant. I'm that type of person who live for dessert & sweet and I like chocolate fondue. I went to The Melting Pot that is located near my aunty's house. My friend, Carissa, came by on the first night I was staying in San Francisco and then we went together to The Melting Pot. Carissa is just the best with information about places to eat. She knows a lot of good restaurants. I tried the Yin Yang Fondue. It's a mix between milk chocolate and white chocolate. I also tried the one with marshmallow. They mixed the marshmallow with the chocolate fondue. Then, we also got the platter with Cheese cakes, brownies, rice crispy, strawberry, bananas and marshmallow. Oh and later I just knew that The Melting Pot is not only located in California, but they also have one around here in Orlando. Wew!

I have been craving for good seafood for a long time. I miss the seafood restaurants in Indonesia! They really have good seafood with good price. Anyways, so I told Carissa & Melissa, that I was craving for one and I want to eat seafood. They brought me to Thanh Long. It is located on Judah St. We went there for dinner and we had Crab! They both said that I should try Thanh Long's Drunken crab. So we ordered 2 Drunken Crabs and Garlic noodle for the main course. We ordered Calamari for appetizer because we were starving to death that time. But yes, the drunken crab... it's so delicious! It's not that 'pricey' as well for a big crab that taste like THAT. Turns out that Thanh Long is a sister restaurant with Crustacean. I've heard of that restaurant before but never tried it. From what I heard, Crustacean is another real good seafood with delicious crabs. The difference, however, is that Crustacean is more expensive than Thanh Long. But everyone said that their crab tastes the same, it's just there's a different with the restaurant service. Hmm. I should really try to eat at Crustacean and compare the two. Lol.
When I went back to my aunty's place, I told my uncle that I had dinner at Thanh Long at Judah St. He told me that my aunty really love the food there.

3. Purple Kow (
http://www.purplekow.com/)
One rainy night in San Francisco, we stopped by a boba tea place (or/ Bubble Tea). It's called the Purple Kow. I was actually curious about how that boba tea taste because when I came there, it was really crowded. Melissa & Carrisa said that Purple Kow has a lot of customers most of the time. That time when I went there, it was really late at night. We went there after we had the Drunken Crab! and we just felt like we need a dessert, something sweet. So yeah, I ordered a normal boba tea. I thought it's going to be the same like any other boba teas that I had in my life, but it wasn't. It was a real good boba tea!! Love it! Carissa ordered a different drink. She ordered a combination of milk with honey jelly and I think it tastes even better than the standard boba tea! Seriously good!! The other thing that I love about this place is the store design. It's unique & it's purple. So much reminds me of my dear friend, Kartika, in Beijing, who loves purple so much. The drink size at Purple Kow is also different than any other ordinary boba tea places. Its has a wider diameter of cup size. Well, I think the cup size is unique and cute. You should try, or at least check their website. They have a lot others flavors and topping choices too. So, if you ever be near Balboa Street in San Francisco, you definitely should stop by!

4. JAYAKARTA (
http://www.jayakartarestaurant.bravehost.com/)
I-don't-know how many miles I am away from my hometown, but I always miss Indo Food. Yes, although I occasionally have them here in Orlando, I still always miss it and love it. Melissa & Carissa told me that they both love the food at Jayakarta. It is an Indonesian restaurant! with Indonesian owner as well. It is located in Berkeley. So, when we finally decided that we were going to have lunch there, I remember of my friend, Claudia, who is currently studying at UC Berkeley. So I bbm-ed her and it turns out that she lives close by to the restaurant. We all had lunch there and it was good... aaaa so delicious and real Indonesian's food. I had Ketoprak and Mie Tek Tek. Carissa had the Nasi Padang, and I tried it too... It's good. I also brought some for my Aunty because I knew that she missed Indonesian's food as well.
5. Miette Patisserie (
www.miette.com)
I have known this place for quiet a while because the last time I visited San Francisco, my Aunty brought me to this place. I went to the one that is located in Ferry Building. I always love Ferry Building! It has a lot of good restaurants, food, and speciality stores. Miette Patisserie is my aunty's favorites. She told me how on her birthday, her colleagues always bought her a cake from Miette. My aunty used to work close by to Ferry Building. Yes, I really love their cupcakes, especially their chocolate cupcakes. Melissa had the Hazelnut Macaroons and she said it taste real good too. One thing that I love about Miette is the store design. I love their simple + cute, pretty pink store concept. I know it's bias obviously because I'm a die hard pink lover. But yes! love it.
6. Ferry Building
I told you how I love the Ferry Building. Here's what I found there. They have speciality food stores. There's this store who sell bagels, it looks really good. I didn't give a try though. It's called the Mariposa.
This is the other store... well a unique store, I think, that I found in Ferry Building. It's the Mushroom store!! It's cuteeeee. They sell a lot of different types of mushrooms. So much reminds me of my Dad who is a mushroom consumer. Haha. I told my mom about this because one time, my mom made a soup with a lot different of mushrooms. And my dad loves it very much. I think they both should come here and maybe they can get different type of mushrooms and add it to 'Mom's Mushrooms soup'. Lol.
